Made in Malmö, Sweden 2024
The Dirt Bag, designed and produced by the fictional company The Dirty South, is a tribute to Malmö and its active cycling culture, combining a conscious approach to fashion and sustainability with a local touch.
The focus is on the often-overlooked work of local bike shops and repairers, whose contributions are easily forgotten. Aimed at fashion-conscious, environmentally aware, and niche, dedicated cyclists, the Dirt Bag is designed as a versatile everyday bag that meets the demands of functionality, eco-friendliness, aesthetics, and durability.
The bag is crafted using canvas made from repurposed or damaged bicycle inner tubes, constructed from Polyisobutylene (Butyl rubber), which adds durability and an eco-conscious touch to the design.
The details, including the belt buckles and smaller steel components, are made from recycled steel, contributing to the bag’s sustainable approach. Each material choice reflects a commitment to sustainability without compromising on functionality or style.
The Dirt Bag promotes sustainability by using repurposed bicycle inner tubes and supporting local bike shops. Its durable materials and construction extend the bag's lifespan, reducing waste. It raises awareness about recycling and environmental responsibility, benefiting both users and the community.
